God has called us to two offices, Kings and Priests. In the past, Kings and Priests had conflicting responsibilities making it difficult for one individual to hold both offices. Traditionally, the Priest was responsible for pleasing God while the King was responsible for ruling and the defending the kingdom. To enlarge the kingdom’s coast and maintain order, Kings often ruled with bloody hands because war was inveitable but this did not please God.
Today, Pastor Kunle Akindoju teaches us that unlike in the past, one individual can be both a priest and a king because Jesus has made it possible. We learn that though the devil always attacks our weaknesses, God has equipped each of us with what it takes to rule and to please God.
